Book Recommendation: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

Today’s book recommendation is a classic. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. I reread this recently and remembered how much I loved it.

Anne Shirley is a head strong book loving 11 year old orphan with a head full of dreams who just wants to find a loving family. Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert want to adopt a boy to help Matthew on the farm. One mix up later and these 3 are thrown together with witty interactions, hilarious stories, and most importantly love with a side of God doesn’t always give us what we want but what we need.

If you’ve seen the movies (Meghan Follows does the BEST depiction of Anne in my very intellectual opinion) then you will enjoy the books.

As a dreamer who loves books and can be head strong myself, I loved Anne and related to her so much growing up. My passion for poetry came from her stories as well as becoming a writer myself! Her explanation of the lake of shining waters is how I refer to every lake (lol).

This classic is a must read for everyone (especially young ladies!)
Have you read this book? Did you see the movie? What did you think?

Until next time: Happy reading!
