Happy Friday friends! This Friday’s book recommendation is “Notes I Wrote Along The Way” by my friend Matthew Gutierrez. It is a collection of original poems that he wrote inspired by his life’s journey.
There are poems that anyone can relate to and his honesty on strong emotional experiences such as death, love, dreams, and even feelings of depression is inspirational and refreshing.
I fell in love with poetry at a young age and it was what I first started writing to express the hard emotions I was feeling, so this book definitely resonated with me.
What’s even more unique (and awesome) about this book is on one page the poem is in English and the next page it is translated into Spanish! A bilingual poetry book that is relatable and deals with real and hard themes in our lives.
You can find Matthew on Instagram at the handle @notes2poetry and you can purchase “Notes I Wrote Along The Way” on Amazon (click the Amazon word and it will direct you to his book). You might also find it in random bookstores at the different places around the world he likes to visit on his many travels! 😄
